The Cordell Sofa is the most extraordinary piece in the collection. The
frame is the strongest and lightest seating structure of its size ever built in wood. The
design would not be possible without the unusual flex elasticity of this
material. The sofa is assembled from 35 posts and beams. No glue or gripping screw is
used.
The sofa measures 33" deep by 31" high by 84" long. Its frame was built
from a 14' board of rare Brazilian Massaranduba in 1975. The piece was restored
and refitted with cobalt blue glove leather cushions and slings in 1997.
